My stay at this hotel was simply wonderful! The rooms were clean, comfortable, and offered a great view of the water. I would highly recommend it for anyone visiting Houghton. The service, however, had a few hiccups, especially in communication, but the location couldn't have been more perfect, close to the university, downtown restaurants, and picturesque Portage Lake. The dining experience, although basic, was decent, and the facilities were adequate for a pleasant stay.

Staying at the hotel was worth the little extra for the good-size rooms with views of Hancock across the river. We even had the delightful surprise of observing an eagle and otters right from our room. However, the service had its hiccups with a lack of acknowledgment of a customer's loyalty and training issues. The location was very clean and well-kept, offering multiple docks to enjoy waterfront views and access to a local seafood restaurant. The dining options were somewhat limited, but adequate for starting the day. Overall, the hotel provided a pleasurable experience with a few minor drawbacks.
